My plan when I launched BamaHipHop.Net was to display talent from my home state. It started off pretty good, but took a major dip. I hate to say it but the amount of talent that I have seen lately is average/below average. I guess my main problem with Alabama rappers is the lack of originality. To make a long story short, we sound like everybody else. So, my advice to any up-and-coming acts from the state of Alabama is to step outside of the box, find your own lane and be as original as possible.

I totally agree. Im also callin out every Bama Hip-Hop supporter. Many hip hop artists in Alabama feel like they recieve no support from Alabama or Alabama radio stations or DJ’s. I personally feel that this is only because Alabama does not have a high population compared to places such as Atlanta, New York City, Houston, MIAMI, or Los Angeles. Its way easier to promote in a city, more people to sell to, more connections, more money, and more studios. This is something I know cause Im from Atlanta and I go there all the time. As far as originality goes Check Out My Mixtape “The Come Up”- Many reviews from the streets and suburbs call it a Classic!! Free Download at http://www.soundclick.com/cottonstateking
